Haven't thought about half these bands in years. I'm suprised nobody mentioned Mötley Crüe. Iron Maiden was the dominant music on my... oh God... TAPE DECK!

Iron Maiden is one of the best groups ever.I always went to the darker side of metal and I did not listen to the party metal. But at the same time I was also listening to various other music like Billy Joel and such.My music taste are real eclectic.

The odd thing is somehow I never noticed that song till Waynes World... How I got through the 80's without ever noting that song was around is amazing, I guess it was so bad to me I blanked it out completely.

Surly that's not counted as a "hit" is it? BTW didn't Madonna sample the ABBA version in one of her songs?

Shit I did most of my partying in the late 70's and only about 1/2 into the 80's - but I never did get into the hair bands and shit. I spent the later half of the 80's working my ass off trying to get a start in life and support a young family - same thing in the 90's.... and I'm almost done with that - my youngest is 16.

But at least I can type 1980, know that it was 30 years ago and not 20

I did my fair amount of and but apparently, I stopped early enough to avoid too much brain damage... I think

Lets face it hair bands lost the "rock war" to rap, that's just how bad they were... Heck even Boy George kicked disco's a$$....
