Normally with Ad Blocker, it asks permission to show the pop-ups.
I haven't seen that option with the Goggle ads.

Wrong way of thinking on Guns Network. How are you celebrating when most of the advertising is gun related, just curious as to how this does not help????

This is revenue will help keep the prices down for the advertisers.

I went to the ad block feature earlier today.
There is no reference to Google in it.
I have no way to unblock it that I know of.

I'm fine with the banner with sponsor ads on top, those are convenient links to places that I probably visit already, and good reminders to check up on new gear and sales.

To me, the google ads, not so much. Right in the middle of threads, its kind of like commercials (which I fast forward through when I record things on TV), you don't really want it there.

Under Tools / Add-ons, find "Adblock Plus" and install that into Firefox. No more annoying ads.

(or try this link - should do the same thing): https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fir...xpi?src=search

Firefox will pop-up a warning saying "Prevented from installing software" and there's an "Allow" button upper right corner. Click the allow button to install Adblock.

Not only that, but the Google shit doubles the load time for a page here. Look at your status bar when you open a page and the last thing that finishes after a minute or so of loading is "google adsense".

Strange and sad that "some members" are complaining about the owner trying to keep this site up and running after "some members" were saddened when the site was off line for several months.

If these ads pay for the bills and keep the site afloat, I think it is great. Not to mention them being firearm related...

Thanks for the heads up on the Element Hider. I didn't have that one installed and some text and IFrame ads were able to sneak through. It's kinda embarrassing to close a window and see that another window called "Barely legal teen sluts" was hiding underneath!

(edit to add): WOW the element hider is awesome! It's actually a great companion to Firebug... it shows the name of any highlighted element and it's parent nodes! Awesome!

One way to stop that is don't go to a porn site first.
