Not my style but I hope it shoots well for you.

Reminds me of what guys used to do to SARs when they were dirt cheap.

I missed the cheap SARs.I have an Intrac II 5.45 that was quite a lot of fun but then 5.45 was impossible to find.So I sold it off.I did have install the Romy 22mm FSB installed,Warsaw length US stock set in black and a 20 plus mags. The rifle was not a tack driver but was fun to shoot. This is only one like this I own the others are more traditional and will remain that way.

You have a right to enjoy what ever you do to that poor rifle. That is the beauty of many of these firearms that we enjoy, the ability to personalize them. ENJOY!!!! And I mean it!

The mag conversion and pistol grip conversion are all I would need. I like the stock too.

AKTX thats an interesting rig, its a franknikov. I like its short barrel configuration, as odd as it looks just means its a one of a kind. Enjoy it and shoot the shit out of it!

Magpul angled grip.I tried using it on the front end,my arms do not reach that far comfortably. In the position I have it makes very comfortable, easy to shoulder and the weight is perfectly balanced there.

    Update:Range Report

I managed to get out to the range finally.

First run was with Monarch 145 gr.Cheap stuff at 9.99 a box of 20 from Academy.

From 50 yards the first 5 rounds were to sight in the Vortex sight.

With iron sights the groups were 5 shots 1-2",this grouping maintained with the last 30 rounds.

Second Run was at 100 yards with Monarch 145gr,Lake City 150gr,South African 148gr Surplus.Adjusted the Vortex for 100 yards.I shot 3 groups of 20.

    Monarch:First 5 shots 2" group,total of 20 Shots 4" group

    Lake City:First 5 shots 2" group,total of 20 Shots 4" group

    South African:First 5 shots 2" group,total of 20 Shots 4" group

The South African is performing the same out the shorter barrel as it did out of the longer barrel.I'm pleased since I have two cases of the stuff.

The Monarch is an improvement over the longer barrel.Groups at 100 yards were 4-6" out of the short barrel.

The Lake City was limited,I was given just a couple of boxes to try out.

I suspect handloads will improve the group sizing, but the rifle is shooting as I expected.

The rifle is perfectly balanced right in front of the magazine where the trunnion is.

Shoulders quickly to pick up the sights. The Vortex is great sight, holds zero and the Ultimak gas tube dispersed the heat well enough.I'm going to take to Del Rio to shoot rocks off the cliff into the dry creek. We have a few rocks marked 70 yards and 120 yards.

Overall I'm pleased with the performance.I expected the rifle to really bark but not as much as the AR.
