No, the slab sided polymer mag in the photo is what came with it. I have no idea what make it is. You can order extra mags just like it from SIG. It would have been cool if it was SIG marked.

The mag inserted is a clear ProMag, and the other stacked up mags are Circle 10 Bulgarian waffels. I have an issue with one of the circle 10's, it just won't go in and latch up. I can't see any difference between it and the others.

Is this rifle the dispute settler, or what?

    This gun uses the 7.62x39

    2: The AK's ergos suck"
This gun has AR like controls

3: The AR's DI system is prone to failure."
    This rifle uses a piston.

    AND

    It's a Sig.

I have to say, I like it. How much for how much?

If it fits in the magwell, but won't latch, then its probably the rear locking tab that needs to be filed ( or dremeled) on top or bottom.

Very cool. Like others have asked and you don't mind sharing, what did Academy ask for it?

Think I might have to visit an Academy store during my trip down to Texas next week. Lol, "I swear honey I'm only going to look around." .

Can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are the gift of God? That they are not to be violated but with His wrath? Indeed I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just: that his justice cannot sleep for ever."--Thomas Jefferson

The price was $1199. Got it from the Academy in Macon GA. They just got it in this week and it was the only one they had. Usually they have the .223 556 as a regular stocked rifle.

I have AR's and AK's and I like both platforms, but this gun does seem to settle that dispute. Even the mag release is just like an AK. Going to the range tomorrow with it!

That is a real nice looking rifle. A little pricey for me, but very nice looking. Can't wait to hear how it performs on the range.

Well, having to send the cheap SIG red dot sight back to SIG for replacement! All that would show up was a horizontal red line, no dot. Plus, the rifle does not come with the hooded front sight anymore, just the rear flip-up sight. Looks like I will need to go the Magpul route for flip-ups.

Makes no sense to me that there is no solid front sight. It's not supposed to be a precision bolt action.

I agree. I told the SIG customer service rep that it made no sense not to include the front hooded sight,(which attaches to a dovetail mount).Evidently they used to include it, but most people swapped them out for aftermarket sights. The cost for the front sight is $50! I told them that for the price of the gun it should have been included.

When you consider the price of quality steel flip ups, $50 doesn't sound to bad.

Plus, if "everyone" is swapping them out, then it shouldn't be hard to trake down a used one.

You are right, just did a little search, their price is not of of bounds.
