    Uzi build questions

I was digging around the NoDak website to see what AK receiver options are out there and ran across fully welded Uzi receivers. I never really looked into Uzi's after I found out there was welding involved since I don't weld. I can braze, but not weld.

Now I don't know WHAT is welded in the NDS Uzi receiver but it says it counts as 2 US parts. My questions are:

What's the parts count and compliance situation with Uzis?

If the receiver is already welded, what else has to be done to get one up and running as a semi-auto?

    Thanks!

if you leave off the stock, or weld the folding one in solid, ie., make a pistol, not compliance parts will be needed.

True but if I want a heavy assed pistol, I'll buy another full sized, all steel 10mm Witness...

You're better off buying a used norinco 320 and converting from stupid wood stock to folder, with us parts.

    Thanks!

I just happened to run across receivers and kits while looking for other things and wondered if the new receivers made it any easier than it used to be. Not really...

There are people who convert bolts for you if you can't do that yourself, I looked into building a UZI from a Nodak receiver but went with the CAI version which IMO is the best deal going for one compliant and built. I think the reason most people build it themselves is to build a pistol UZI and is exactly what I'd do if building from a kit.
