The Zastava M88 is suppose to be an improvement over the M57 & M70. The M57 has the same basic clip.

After today, it's all historical.
Looks to me like a copy of a tokerav with newer grips.
Doobie Doobie Doo..
The Tokerev was never meant for concealed carry, or even loaded open carry. There would be no advantage to an individual soldier to have an internal spring holding the pins in, and it would increase manufacturing costs by requiring workers with manual dexterity.
I thought the joke was that it's a 9mm Tok with nasty grips.

In a heart beat if it gets into the USA. And I would want it in 7.62X25 too, hot set up.
I'm very impressed and I just ordered a second M57 too.

Yep just an updated Tok clone, the TT33's all have the same way of retaining the slide stop.
Tokarevs have been using that clip since the '30s so it is "traditional" for that style of pistol.
I guess if you're not familiar with the Tokarevs the clip does look odd but I automatically recognize it as a Tokarev derivative by the clip. Never would have given it a second thought just a normal feature of that type of pistol
The clip doesn't look real pretty but it does make the pistol very easy to field strip.
