    Favorite AK wood?

I don't know why, but I really dig the wood on the Yugoslav rifles. I don't even know what type of wood it is; it just does it for me. If I ever get another AK, it will probly be Yugoslavian model just for the furniture.

What is your favorite AK wood? Can't say Russian laminate, lol.

What's wrong with the original, most bestest wood on an AK?

Other than Russian laminate, the Chu wood on the Norincos and Polytechs is good stuff. Can't say much for the Romanian laminate, it's there, but nothing special.

Of course you could always give your rifle that air freshener quality and outfit it with purple cedar.
How do you compromise with someone when their idea of compromise is to give them what THEY want?

Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

There's an unfired .308 Valmet that a guy usually has on his table at a local show with prettier wood than the nicest bolt rifle I've ever seen. It's unbelievable that it was put on an AK by the factory. It's the deepest slickest walnut butt stock I've EVER seen. The guy is asking (IIRC) $1800 for the rifle which personally if I had the $$$ it would already have a new home...

That rifle would give me wood....

Hey anyone know what wood the Galils had? I have a set of new put up and it is pretty nice, not as nice as the Valmet walnut, but nice all the same.

I think my favorite wood is the Hungarian blond sets, next would be the polish laminate.
