    FSB/slant brake question

Picked up a kit from a buddy last week. It's a mish mash of nationalities and I noticed the FSB does not have the hole for the spring and plunger set up to keep the brake from unscrewing.

Do I really NEED the spring and plunger set up for a slant brake or can I just red loctite that baby on?

the spring and plunger are mainly for orientation so if your right handed the opening of the slant should face to the right so on fullauto or rapid fire it will push the forearm into your left supporting arm so if you locktight it orientate it accordingly . viseversa if your lefty /yes a little locktight should the trick. youll find out when the barrel gets hot. check it once in a while after it gets warm.

Lock tite will not work the heat will soften it. I would simply drill it for the detent pin before building it or change it out.

The slant brake is an old design and although it does help with FA; to aim you must see and a slant brake is also an excellent dust deflector. Taming FA's pull wasn't as challenging as reducing muzzle signature and keeping the flash out of your LOS better.

I agree to just drill the hole and cross-pin retainer hole for the spring and detant rod.

OK, I am a dumbass and I am going to admit it in a public forum.

I was looking at the back of the fsb NOT the front.

F my old boots, how the Hell did I manage to miss that I was looking at it backwards?
