What do you consider to be the minimum number of mags to keep on hand for each firearm that uses mags?
I'm talking about the minimum number that you feel will serve your needs, whatever they are. I have a chance to buy a nice Russian bolt action .22 rifle, but it only has one mag. I told the dealer if he can latch on to 3-4 more mags, then I'd be interested.
I guess my minimum number of mags would be about 4. My ideal number would be about 10. However, I'm still buying whatever mags I can get regardless of how many I already have, but there are some guns I'm not overly concerned about, so I don't have as many mags for those. For example, my Enfields; since they are designed to be loaded either with extra mags or stripper clips, I don't feel the need is as great for them as for guns that only load using mags.
What do you feel would be your minimum "peace of mind" number of mags for your guns?
