    Original Winchester 1886 disassembly

Yesterday a friend of mine and I tried to totally strip an 1886 made back in 1891. Holy smoke... Is it just me or does it really take 3 hands to put it back together? I would really like to find a guide for this. Not that I dont know how to do it, its more, how the hell am I supposed to make all those moves in one time to get those parts in there? Its the lower tang, mainspring combined with fitting the receiver screw that really bugs me. The carrier stop makes it very hard to align all the parts. There must be somekind of a trick to it.

Besides that the design of the locking bolt screw is puzzling. I dont think J M Browning ever wanted anyone to take it apart..... Steve, where are you when I need you??

    Once again, thank you....

Link # 2 is the one Iv been looking for. The screw in the locking mechanism is actually not a screw, its a split pin.... no wonder I scratched my ass.... Ill get it stripped and back together later today....
