I've been collecting 3-4 knives a month on average for the last couple of years and can vouch for more than a few of the linked retail sites as being top notch outfits. IMHO the very best are:

Cutleryshoppe as BIGJim noted, (probably the best prices on Spyderco products on the net as well as others.

Knifeworks, (Roger is great to deal with and carries lots of good stuff and has about the best Benchmade prices out there, be sure to use their discount code.

Knifecenter ships fast and carries just about everything though they might be a few dollars higher in price. Good folks.

Fantastic showroom, great inventory, good prices and customer service you won't believe. My wife stopped by there on business, gave them my list, and they bagged everything up. When she got home I found that they gave here a Bradley Kimura II when I asked for a K III. Emailed them and they shipped me the correct knife at their expense with a return label for the wrong one.
