    J Frame Trigger Return Spring

I just installed a Wolff 11# trigger return spring in my S&W Model 49. It feels much lighter on the reset, but it did fail to reset fully a few times when I was testing/dry firing. Has anybody got any experience with this? My knee-jerk reaction is to re-install the factory spring, but this feels much nicer. Maybe I just need to go shoot it and see what happens.

    Thoughts?

My only comment is that I'd rather have dead nuts reliablility than a smoother pull...

But this is probably easily fixed - something needs to be adjusted - polished maybe.

Yes, of course you are 100% correct about the reliability issue. Thats the strongest trait of a revolver IMO.

I've never even thought about replacing the spring on mine - its perfectly smooth and plenty light enough as-is. Its a body guard - with the shrouded but accessable hammer so you can cock it for single action fire if you want...

That doesn't help with your problem though, so I decided to look around for you - found this = lot's of specific information - you should be able to find your answer here.... http://smith-wessonforum.com/search.php?searchid=776895

S&W revolvers are perfect as they are and you went mucking about with one? Heathen...

Actually the Bodyguard series is something I'd love to be able to carry but J Frame grips are just too small for me. If I put grips I can use on one then it loses that easy concealability.

Mine have rubber secret service grips = Eagle Grips IIRC - they allow a very good purchase with just two fingers and the pinky tucked under the butt.

Found this for 10-32 as well - came to me in an email today: http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/lid=1...ion?mc_ID=5511

Andrew - here's the link to the Eagle Grips - but they're wood - mine are the same shape but rubber...maybe Hogue? http://www.eaglegrips.com/guns/Secre...ps-Smooth.html
