Bought a .38 SPL Taurus revolver

I have a 27 I carry all the time, too. Alot of times, I'll carry the revolver as a primary and a semi-auto as back up. Reason being is that if I'm walking to my car or down the street, I can put my hand in my pocket on the revolver and I can fire right from there. With a semi, you'll get a shot off but then malfunction when the slide is impeded. This way, I have five rounds to fire off and then I can transition to the semi if necessary.

I hope you have an asbestos pocket. I watched Miculek do that in one of the tapes I have and he set his wind breaker on fire. I thought about trying it but that made me think twice.

Yeah that would suck to drop your attacker with a good shot but then go up in flames like a human torch.

Is the 850 a 38spl? I have a 650 that looks identical (357mag).

mriddick, if Taurus does things right the cylinder length of their .38 Spl. revolvers will be just over 0.10" shorter than those chamber for .357 Mag.to prevent the wrong ammunition being used. All Taurus Model 85 revolver and their variants are chambered in .38 Spl. Hope this helps!
