    it's a french MAS-36 modified with a grenade launcher, it has a model designation but I don't remember what it is. in the 50's the french started sticking grenade launchers on their rifles, so they up-dated the older models

    MAS 36/51? No the front looks wrong..



    I think the above is correct (typed at the same time I posted this) I'd say it's pretty rare if a 36 lg48?

    I believe the model number is 36-51 and yes it is a Maas French rifle in 7.5 French. Approximate power factor of 7.62 NATO round. I had a mint condition one at one time, stock was perfect, park job was perfect too, just mint. I never did shoot it, sold it off after I decided to cut down on the plethora of calibers in my collection.

    Measure the launcher, 46mm = 36/48, 22mm =36/51

    if it helps at all the launcher is completly different than the one on my MAS 49

    Ah yes, I forgot about the older model. Given the rifles condition I biet is tis the 36/48 type.

    It looks like a standard issue atheletic sock, perhaps Hanes. I'm not sure about the rifle.
