Wouldn't that stick you in the leg when you get out of bed?
Nah, I keep the sheath on the Bayo while it's on "standby".

On my nightstand is my S&W M&P 9mm wearing a 125 Lumen ITI/Streamlight M3X. A 250 Lumen Cree LED tactical light sits beside it as well...

Also, in the corner on my side of the bed, is my Bushmaster M4...

On my wife's side of the bed, is our Mossberg 500 Tactical Breacher. She can handle the 12ga just fine with the Knoxx Stock on it...

Dan Wesson 357 mag loaded with 38 spcl at bedside. Good enough from my bed to my bedroom door. Once on my feet Its a choice between Winchester or Mossberg, semi or pump, 12 or 20 gauge, both filled with 6 rounds of #4 shot. Longest possible shot in my house is 24' and at that range I'm talking less than 4" spread with the 12, about 2 1/2" with the 20. Both have sights on them not just a bead. Both get used often in drills at HD distances so I know both are functioning and I'm fresh with either gun. Don't mess with my family, it makes me grumpy or as my old navy chief use to say, I am hostile. I don't think he liked me much.

Flash light with my revolver but separate, I have this thing about illuminating my shooting hand, call me old fashioned. Enough night time illumination in my house I dont really need it if I am on my feet and if the lights have been cut off point still goes to the man who knows the lay out of his house vs some sneaky snot nosed boogerman.

The other 2 rounds exited the exterior wall. I'm sure a 9mm would fair the same.
Good point!!! Actually, the 9mm is for my wife, she is not comfortable with a long gun for a defensive application, I prefer it!

The ultimate defense would be a radical liberal on a stick!

bedside? well that depends on which way i roll out.

the nightstand has a CZ-82 in it and one step leads me to a Stoeger 12g coach gun.

if i roll the other way there is a wall rack with an .06, a Win Mdl 1300 12g and a WASR AK.

actually the wall rack stuff is intended for long, med and short range coyote work but i suppose they would do good on two legged critters as well.

Daewoo DR200 with 2x30 leaning against the nightstand, and a 92FS and spare mag in a ready holster in the drawer.

High Standard K120 12ga (5+1 buckshot, and 5 in a side-saddle) behind the master bedroom suite door.

Stag AR carbine/M193 with a P6 light + Malkoff LED. Illegals have been known to team up in groups of 5-10 for home invasions in these parts.

    Snoring

The way I fart and snore in my sleep, anyone stupid enough to break into my home will be found on the floor bleeding from both ears and/or nostrils and gasping for breath.

But just in case they're wearing hearing protection and have no sense of smell, I have a Ruger SP101 .357 with CT next to me. While they're ducking or dying, I'll walk over to my double-barrel coach 12 gauge, G34 w/laser + light, and SKS. If there's anyone left standing, the local police can do cleanup while I smoke a cigar in my safe-room; if they can get into the safe-room (I refuse to call it a "panic room" since I'll be relatively calm - I hope), I have 100 rounds of .38+P, ten 17 round mags for the G34, 100 rounds of 12 gauge and 500+ rounds of AK on stripper clips. My REAL gun room is downstairs, because I don't want my second floor to sag or crash to the first floor

Too many Zombie movies have me thinking way too much! Can one be too prepared? NAW!

Glock 17 in the night stand, above the dresser 4 feet from the bed is a wall rack with a SAR-1, Win 94 & a pump 12 ga. Everything else sleeps in the safes.
