Have no idea as to date....I aquired one years back #984*....made a hardball gun with match trigger/bushing/fitted the slide/polished ramp.....I love it......I've put over 10K rds through it without a burp! Auto Ordinance has a web site that might be able to help. Steve, u have any thoughts?

Buckshot, the first thing you need to do is to determine if your Auto-Ordnance 1911 was made during the Gun Parts Corporation days or after Kahr Arms took over in 1999. This is actually pretty easy. Those marked "West Hurley" were made by Gun Parts Corp. and those marked "Worcester" were made by Kahr. You'll need to contact the appropriate manufacturer to find out when your 1911 was made.

For 1911's made under Gun Parts Corp. you need to contact:

    Tommy Gunner.com
    Contact person: George Damon Gulick
Address: 75 Haver Rd., Olivebridge, NY 12461
    Phone: 845-514-9332

For 1911's made under Kahr Arms you need to contact:

Mailing Address: 130 Goddard Memorial Dr.
    Worcester, MA 01603
    Attn: Service Dept.
    TEL: 508-795-3919 | FAX: 508-795-7046
    service@tommygun.com

    Hope this helps!

    Steve

    Undocumented feature on early Auto-Ord 1911's :

If for some reason you find yourself blasting through 4,000 rounds as fast as five platoon members can load magazines for you. You will want to have a have at least a new front sight blade available. You will find that the 1911 will auto eject it's front sight shortly after that orange glow appears in the steel.

That is a good safety tip!

that is funny the only thing I have done with it so far is replace the front blade just after 50 rounds
