    Got Guns?

I hate to bother everyone with my pictures of guns, but I'm just excited about the new forum!

The left is an XD-45 Tactical Bi-tone 5" 13 round mags.
The right is an XD-9 Service 4" with Mec-gar 18 rounders.

    Feel free to join me.

I bought a new toy recently.... an AMT "Backup" pistol in .45 ACP...

Holds 5 in the mag and 1 in the pipe.

Here it is compared to a 1911 (for size comparison):

I've put about 250 rounds through it so far... 100% reliable.

Dayum! And Krup breaks out the 1911. That is the REAL "1911", and none of that "a1" stuff. Verry nice!

That 1911 is a 1920 Colt with the (well worn) original finish. It's so worn that it feels polished-smooth. She still works perfectly. I hope I'm in as good a shape when I'm 90 years old!

Oh grouping... the AMT doesn't have sights... just a little groove across the top. The trigger is DAO, and it's a bear to pull, so keeping on target isn't easy.

I didn't shoot paper, but I did shoot at a 6 x 6 inch steel plate at 25 yards. I hit it about 20% of the time (where with my Beretta or a 1911 I can hit the plate 9 out of 10 or 10 out of 10).

I don't know if the poor accuracy is due to the pistol or due to it simply being difficult to hold on target while hauling on the trigger.

But, it's a defensive pistol... at the distances that it would ever be required, there's no need to aim.

That AMT also has a heck of a kick and muzzle flash... but as I said it's a defensive piece, not a target pistol.

That 1911 is a piece of history and good to see one not all pimped out.To be expected with the AMT.

I was about to ask about that. Even if you don't hit the criminal you are shooting at you might just catch them on fire!

Or blind them, if it's dark.

I shot this revolver shortly after dusk and the muzzle blast and flash looked like a miniature sun lighting up the whole area. .44 Mag, 3" barrel S&W.
