No apparent burns from powder but the cloth opening and small punctate wound kinda indicate a fairly close muzzle distance. If the guy was using frangibles it may have sploded in his cranium, but I can't see the eyes remaining in the skull in that case. Who knows, 223 is weird. At close range a 1:7 twist imparts insane rpm on the round, making it more or less explosive once it comes into contact with something other than air, frangible or not.
