I sold all my guns and ammo, now I live the quiet retired life.
They aren't very common.

After today, it's all historical.
After maybe a hundred plus gun shows in a dozen states or more and hundreds of pawn shop stops I don't remember ever seeing one...
There is one on a certain gun auction site right now labeled as 7.62x39 .223 Remington

And my, what a skinny barrel it has.
You guys are being all sly why? One of you buying it?
I wouldn't mind snagging it.
...I'm just not in "buying mode" right now.

I'd like to see a close-up of that receiver. The .223 SKS has distinct markings.

Mind clueing a guy in as to what site it is on so I can go and find it?
I post live links to auction sites all the time. Especially when I run into good buys on special hard to find Chinese AK variants. I also post live links to auctions showing bubba specials.
You guys are making me want to see this gun now.

Here's a closer look-

I've never heard of a .223 SKS before. I would like to know how reliable it is. Since it didn't get popular, it may not be as reliable as the 7.62.
Well I guess you learn something new everyday.
So now that would be something cool to add to my collection....
there was one at the harrisburg show about 5 years ago $1400-1600ish. still new in box.
I was intrigued but not for that much $$$$
