Does anyone think enough people will be able to hold their nose and vote for Newt to beat Obama? I am afraid that backing him will just hand the election to Obama.

Hell no! I wont vote for the opportunistic prick.
Trying to get on the no fly list, one post at a time.
Truthfully I'm noticing alot of what I'd call independent voters grudgingly supporting obama regardless of who the R will be. At this point I think it's going to be a very big uphill battle who ever the R is.
I damn sure won't vote for Romey the "I'm fine with another Assault Weapon Ban" democrap light that he is. Gingrich ... not happy with him as a choice but he's never attacked the 2nd amendment like Romeny.
Santorum, I hear he voted for no child left behind and the perscription drug thing for old farts during Bush the 2nd's tenure. So he seems to be liberal big gov. spending in nature, not what I want to see elected either.
Ron Paul, only if you want to see major US cities nuked with Iranian bombs.
All in all, just a big steaming pile of shit to pick from.
Well then who do we as gun owners and americans support? We might as well throw our votes away from how it looks right now
Historically the setting President can expect to pick up 5% of the independents and late deciders, to wait only give the advantage to the President IMO. Plus in any election the guy who spends the most wins roughly 97% of the time, obama will have a reported 1 billion dollars to convince those late deciders...
My current picks are:
Newt
Paul
Santorum
Romney
Frankly, I'd like to see Newt and Paul get together and form an alliance. Personally, I think Newt would make the better Prez, that would give Paul the tie breaking vote in the Senate, where his Constitutional expertise could be put to work.
Still, It wouldn't bother me a bit if the role were reversed. Paul as prez, and Newt as vice prez. Thus Newt could play the role of the pit bull, kicking commie ass and taking names.

I agree with Rage, Newt and Paul for me.
Being ready is not what matters. What matters is winning after you get there.

Local news rag, of which I rarely agree, DID have one gem today, however.
Newt is stronger running as the challenger rather then the front-runner.
Guess it's not a "gem" if you have to explain it?
