When John Roberts went off the freedom plantation.

"This logic was deeply disconcerting to those of us who believe that the Constitution doesn’t unleash the federal government but restrains it. The Constitution was written to keep the government off our backs. Yet, Chief Justice John Roberts wrote, along with his four liberal colleagues, that while Congress cannot order us to eat broccoli, it could tax us if we don’t. The same, he reasoned, is the case for maintaining health care insurance."

By Roberts logic the gov't could mandate that we all eat a pile of horse manure everyday or face a $20,000 fine......

Roberts by his tax decree made the 1934 NFA perfectly legal in spite of "shall not be infringed".

The old Beatles song "Taxman" is playing in my head.

This statement alone proves Roberts has no business playing judge, much less Chief Just-Us of the Extreme Court. Even a second year law student is aware that a criminal penalty can NOT be disguised as a tax.
This goes back to the Supreme Courts decision of Bailey v. Drexel, which was a case involving the use of child labor.
They ruled that the sole purpose for taxation was to collect revenue.
It could not be used as a penalty, prohibition or punitive action to prevent lawful commerce.

Problem in many courts and jurisdictions today is the use of 'case law'.
Some judge decides to legislate from the bench, ignores The Constitution when making a decision and it goes unchallenged.
This becomes a precedent that will be sited by another left-wing / liberal hack judges and broadly applied in a case with circumstances that are completely unrelated to the original decision.
This, in turn, sets a NEW precedent that is then recycled and used by yet another liberal hack judge to steal more of our God Given Rights.

Better stop now before this turns into a rant or something . . .
