    Your Senators need Your Attention

Hank Johnson Jr. is my congressman. Useless, but i still asked about tax cuts from him.

My Senators David Perdue (jr) and Johnny Isakson are decent. DP it is his first term and JI
has been there a number of years.

But I contact them also. I just congratulated them on the tax thingy and told them it starts
in Jan. when they get back to DC. The FBI and DOJ are burning so bright that someone need to turn the
    attention in that direction.

    Just spammin........................

Not worth my time on any conservative issues. Franken and Klobuchar, both far left crazies.

I get it but my congressman said Guam was going to tip over. But it does not keep me from pestering his ass.
What the hell happened to you people up there?

For one thing the craps steal elections. It just always been that way. If you remember Reagan Mondale, this is the only state that voted for Mondale.

But Franken will be gone and an election will come for his seat. Hell everyone knows there were
shenanigans in his first election. So do not lose the forward vision...

Since we went to popular voting for Senators they care less about representing rural people (or like me, people who with they were rural) and more about representing large cities. I think my Senators just send my comments, letters, and e-mails straight to the trash.

This is why I am a HUGE proponent of the repeal of the 17th amendment.
    They are really useless.

I spend a lot of time explaining what moving to popular election of Senators actually did. It did not increase representation, it actually decreased it. It is a problem with how Civics is taught that we don't know what the purpose of a Senator was and how that purpose was changed by the 17th Amendment. It is another problem that by passing the 17th Amendment we drove the country in a liberal direction. The results sort of remind me of the Hunger Games, the lowly rural workers supporting the cities.

I just found this article arguing for repeal of the 17th Amendment. It is pretty good and points out another consequence I did not realize. Besides making Senators more accountable to big cities and less to rural concerns, it also meant that states only way to influence federal legislation was by lobbying. Think of how much money states would save if Senators were accountable to the legislature of that state for legislative decisions.

This needs to return. I have contacted my Senators twice and my useless congressman 4 times. Just to bother him like some others.

If they would just introduce a competency test for current politicians we would lose at least 80% of them, maybe more.

Oh I indeed do agree. Read post 7. This is mostly all that needs to happen. Congress and the (now) 435 members were and have the purse strings to run OUR
republic. The senate was to be appointed by A state .gov to take of the 'states" business. But the fucking weasels wormed their way into our lives and need to
    be repealed.

Is that more than one line?
