BTW, it's "Glunk", not "Glock". A contraction of "Glock" and "Junk".

With one exception (a Keltec PMR-30), all of my guns are metal. The largest caliber is .357 (no .45).

If you watch the video through to its conclusion there's a couple of disclaimers which actually make the video funnier. The disclaimers state "yes he knows Glock's are Austrian" and that the reason for the failure to feed on the 1911 is because he loaded an empty cartridge in the 1911 mag. Also at the end when he throws the Glock away, then runs back to pick it up.

To be honest, his whole video, while purporting to champion the 1911, is showing the advantages of Glock...

But I still ain't buying one.

I love my 1911. I like handguns that are made almost entirely of steel.

All mine are metal. Either all steel or steel/aluminum (aluminum frame on the Beretta M9).

The only thing "wrong" with a 1911 is the capacity. 7 or 8 plus 1 in the pipe isn't enough. And, a double stack .45 is too bulky unless you have huge hands.

As far as cops, I think they have some price deal with Glock and their departments make them carry it for that reason.

Why is it always either or???

    Just own both...I do.

Love the feel of a 1911 a true legend of the gun world and for good reason.....love the rugged simplicity and utter reliability of a Glock, actually owning one gives you a better understanding of why they are so popular.

Seriously we can all yuck it up and nit-pick but they are both great guns, both with pros and cons.

Obsolete antique or tupperware.....they both will do the job and are damn good at what they do.
Where are we going and why are we in this handbasket???

When I was in college in southern Illinois in the early to mid-70s, the "campus police" were considered to have nearly the same authority as the state police. At that time, many WERE carrying 1911s and HP ammo. There was a big stink about that one summer as some "medical personnel" pointed out the damage the HP ammo would cause and got many students all "hot & bothered".

    I got a CZ 75B and a 40B....which one?

The 40B has a 1911 style grip but the 75 still uses locking lugs.

There is definitely something to be said for a good DA/SA pistol and the 75 is one of the best ever.

Or were you referring to one of CZ's new line of combat tupperware???

Interestingly CZ's Tupperware can be had in striker or hammer fired models.

I have a 1994 CZ-75 "Transitional" model. It has the pre-94 slide with the 1911 style firing pin retainer instead of the cross rollpin and the post-94 frame with the squared off and grooved trigger guard and rounded hammer. It's a nice, comfortable pistol, all steel and holds 15 + 1 rounds of 9x19.
