Not the death of the site. What you see is this site's BEST QUALITY. The freedom to have an opinion, even if nobody else agrees with it and even if it pisses people off.
This is a privately owned site. The owners do not have to allow the freedom that they do. The First Amendment does not apply here (or on any other board).
It is the fact that the owners CHOOSE to allow virtually any opinion or speech that isn't blatantly illegal or immoral that makes Gunsnet a notch above the rest.

Not really. Our Constitution spells out our rights, and theoretically the Constitution can be used as a legal tool to enforce those rights, but any judge with the swing of the gavel can make it otherwise.
It's American stubbornness that protects our rights. For example, the Second Amendment may state in print that we have the right to keep and bear arms, but in the end the willingness to say "hell no" and, if necessary, pull the trigger is what REALLY protects our right to keep and bear arms.
