Any big fire like that is bad, but the one in LA is in a really bad location. As much as I can't stand commiefornia, I would never wish this on them.

High dollar Bel Aire homes burning.

These are the same people that are against clearcutting(or foresting of any kind) which would create firebreaks. Hard to feel sorry for them. Spotted owls and all.

Well they do not really have "trees" (in that part of the state) more like tall bushes filled with turpentine.

I, mostly, agree with you here. Many of those homes are owned by Leftist/Liberal/Communist Tree-hugging Whackos.

We have an organization here, that is the same way, The Nature Conservancy. They refuse to have anything done to their properties, even when what the state wants to do is good for the environment.

When we had the Gypsy Moth invasion a long while back, the Conservancy refused to have their trees sprayed. Since I live closer than 200 yards from the Conservancy, the state refused to spray my trees because they were located too close to Conservancy property. My trees took a severe hit, but they did come back.

I tend to be somewhat of an environmentalist, but I'm not a rabid one. If clear-cutting a few trees would protect my property, then do it.

For any environmental whacko who does stupid stuff (like not clear-cutting), then they get what they deserve.

Um, most of the fires are brushlands. No clear cutting for timber because those ain't trees. They're acres and acres of dry shrub with no commercial value. Spotted Owls actually inhabit the old growth forests of the Pacific Northwest, you know, the WET and FOGGY forests of Oregon and Washington state?

LOL, if you're gonna mock, at least do it right. LOL

    Downtown Ventura, CA

I wonder who all those cars are who are closest to the fire. Looks like the cops are blocking them in hahahaahhahaha, but I figure it's an optical illusion.

Some are. Some are not. A lot of the 'rural' areas are where the RED STATE voters live. Don't forget that. They voted FOR Trump and they own guns. Most of the Blue State libtard wackos are concentrated in the big cities, thus the BELT OF BLUE along the coast that reigns like a tyrant over the REST of the state.

I agree with you, but I was referring to a news report that I heard that said Rupert Murdock's estate went up in flames and figured that most of the area that burned was full of liberal's estates concentrated into one area to make sure none of the lesser people could afford to move nearby.

I have not seen where Murdocks estate went up. As far as I know it was a temp. controlled wine
    storage area. Big difference.

In this case clear cutting would not have helped. The Santa Anna Winds were blowing over 60 mph and reported in places over 70. With winds like that, one mile clear cut won't stop the flames.

My fault for believing MSM news.
