    Another shooting

    link: https://www.cbsnews.com/news/borderl...an-storming-in

Twelve people, including a sheriff's sergeant, were killed in a mass shooting at a crowded Southern California bar Wednesday night. The Borderline Bar and Grill in Thousand Oaks was filled with college students when witnesses say a gunman, dressed in a trench coat, shot the bouncer at the front door then fired multiple rounds. Police found the shooter dead inside, possibly from a self-inflicted wound.

"It's a horrific scene in there. There's blood everywhere," Ventura County sheriff Geoff Dean said Thursday morning.
Many of the people at the bar were local students, there to celebrate "College Country Night." Witnesses say people were dancing and having a good time when someone stormed in, and began firing.

One of the people who survived this shooting told CBS station KCBS-TV he survived the Las Vegas shooting last year.

Didn't read the article posted but TV news said he used a .45 pistol. Too bad people in commiefornia are not allowed to be armed. He had to make many mag changes to do that much damage. The dead officer was said to have been shot multiple times.

    Sad times we live in.

With due respect to those affected by this, I am glad he didn't use that dreaded AR-15.

He had a Glock 21, which is the 45 ACP version. The media is making a big deal out of the fact that he had ONE high cap among the spare magazines. He was 28 yrs old and a Marine Corp Vet. California banned the NEW acquisition of high caps in 2000 for residents, but those of us who had them before were allowed to keep them. This guy would have been 11 yrs old at the ban date so he could NOT have legally owned a handgun or any high cap magazine (no legacy -or grandfathered ownership). So he definitely illegally acquired them. But shit man, he was a Marine Corp vet. Not hard to score high caps when you're fighting in the sand box.

Again, if someone had a CCW and was armed, they could have capped him, though I'm reading now that he was trained and shooting tactically. It's my own nightmare, facing off against a shooter who knows what he's doing.

They're just amazed that someone would, actually, ignore the law and used a banned device. All Libs believe, in their hearts, that if you enact a law, everyone will blindly follow it (even criminals).

They 'know' that crazies or criminals will never follow the law. It's just a 'fuck you' to the law abiding gun owners. They despise the gun culture and revel in poking us with sharp sticks whenever they can. They'll LIE and whip up the low information public with emotion in order to appear 'virtuous'.

What law would have stopped him from buying a high cap as an 11 year old pre 2000

Yes, just found out via the media that it was a Glock 21. Why do I always assume 1911?

And how could he ignore the law and have a "high capacity" magazine?

No law per se, but it's very unlikely that he legally had a Glock 21 high cap magazine at age 11, (with no handgun). There is no law technically which banned a child from having a high cap. I for instance had tons of WW2 m1 carbine 15 rd magazines as a kid, given as part of a steamer trunk filled with militaria from a dead relative who serve in WW1 and WW2

But The law specifically stated that you had to legally own the magazine prior to the end of 1999. It's VERY improbable that he did NOT acquire it illegally when he was an adult and after he served in the Marine Corp.

True. As per the quote I posted, it was from someone who hates gun free zones and hates the fact that responsible gun owners can't carry to defend themselves, (and this guy's friend who already HAD a Concealed Carry Permit) could not carry at the location (where alcohol was being served) lest he be arrested and lose his CCW and his guns.

It's the mantra that we all already know to be true. The only way to stop a bad guy with a gun, is to allow good guys with their guns to be able to carry and use them.

Several people who got away from the Borderline massacre had also lived through the Vegas mass shooting, in which a lone gunman opened fire on the crowd from his motel room, killing 58 people and wounding hundreds more in the worst mass shooting in modern U.S. history.

'It's the second time in about a year and a month that this has happened,' Nick Champion told OnSceneTV. 'I was in the Las Vegas Route 91 mass shooting, as well as probably 50 or 60 others who were in the building at the same time as me tonight.'

Alleged Facebook Post of Borderline Bar & Grill Shooter Ian David Long Sounds More Like A Gun Confiscation Activist Than A Marine
As usual in these situations, the criminal’s Facebook and social media gets purged, often before anyone outside of state-controlled media and police can verify what was actually posted. However, there are reports that Ian David Long, a former Marine, wrote a final post on his Facebook page before going into the Borderline Bar & Grill and murdering a dozen people before turning the gun on himself. In that post, he allegedly wrote, “Yeah… I’m insane, but the only thing you people do after these shootings is ‘hopes and prayers.'” This doesn’t sound like the words of a Marine to me. It sounds like the words of a gun confiscator activist.
