Bushmaster Muzzle Brake |
|
|
The
AK-74 type muzzle brake reduces felt recoil up to 70% and
reduces muzzle climb up to 90%. This brake is of American
design and is a copy in 7.62x39 caliber of the AK-74 brake.
The brake screws on to threaded barrels and locks in place
using the retaining pin. The brake reduces muzzle climb by
directing gas upward through three gas ports. The recoil is
diminished by four 45 gas ports which direct gas at a 45
angle away from the weapon and a contoured flat at the end
of the brake directs gas sideways. The two gas streams
cancel each other and absorb the force of recoil. The
Bushmaster copy is one of the highest quality AK brake on
the market today. The fit and finish of the brake
matches no other is of the highest quality. The brake
is black parkerized and is NOT chrome lined. Beware if you use corrosive ammunition as it may cause
rust to form on the brake. While the brake reduces
muzzle climb it also significantly increases noise making ear
protection a must. Bushmaster also offers a pin on type muzzle
brake for non threaded or post-ban rifles.

| Pros: |
The
slanted design helps dramatically in
controlling muzzle climb. Repeated shots are
easier to control thus yielding greater
accuracy. |
| Cons: |
The
set screw version requires drilling and
tapping of the rifle. Set screw
versions tend to fly off and look
unattractive. |
| Summery: |
If
you get this type of brake go with the
threaded version, anything else is a waist
of time and money.
